What we are actually solving
Bathrooms are the smallest rooms we build and the ones most likely to go wrong later. Almost every failed shower we tear out failed for the same three reasons: no proper slope to the drain, a waterproofing membrane that stopped short of the curb, and a niche cut into an exterior wall with no insulation behind it.
We build showers over a bonded sheet membrane with a pre-sloped pan, flood test every one for 24 hours before tile goes on, and photograph the test for your project file. It adds a day. It is the day that matters.

Full gut to the studs
Old tile, substrate, tub and fixtures out, framing inspected, rot and termite damage repaired before anything new goes in.
Waterproofing and flood test
Bonded sheet membrane, pre-sloped pan, sealed corners and curb, flood tested for 24 hours and documented with photos.
Plumbing and venting
New supply, waste and vent as needed, pressure balancing valves, and a proper exhaust fan ducted outside rather than into the attic.
Tile and stone
Large-format walls, mosaic or sheet floor, laser-set layout so cuts land where you will not stare at them.
Vanity, glass and fixtures
Vanity set and scribed, custom glass measured after tile, mirrors, lighting and accessories installed.
Accessible options
Curbless entry, blocking for future grab bars, comfort-height fixtures and slip-rated floor tile when you ask for them.

All questionsHonestly, no, not to this standard. Mortar, membrane, thinset and grout all need cure time, and the flood test alone takes a day. A three week bathroom is the fastest we will schedule without cutting something we would rather not cut.
If you plan to stay in the home, yes. It is easier to clean, it looks larger, and it removes the single most common fall hazard in the house. It costs more because the floor framing usually has to be dropped or the drain relocated.
We inspect it on every job and replace what is soft, stained or springy. Around toilets and tub aprons in homes older than 1960, we replace subfloor more often than not.
Yes. We will tell you honestly if a tile is difficult to set, because some natural stone and long thin formats add labor hours. Client-supplied material is warranted for our installation, not for the product itself.
